Pursuit Powerchair Review

July 27, 2017 -
Abilize Pursuit Electric Wheelchair

The Abilize Pursuit powerchair is a new arrival at CareCo and a notable addition to our already expansive powerchair range. However, with so many choices already available, if you’re shopping for a motorised wheelchair it can be difficult to know how the Pursuit fits in. So, to give a little more information on this exciting new product here’s a comprehensive look at everything you need to know about the Abilize Pursuit.

Travelling in Comfort

The Pursuit powerchair has taken into account the necessity for comfort when using it on a daily basis. Firstly, the seat is available in three widths to give you both adequate space and stability, so you will feel secure when taking corners without being cramped. Additionally, the angle of the seat will help you maintain good posture, reducing the likelihood of back pain. Beyond the ergonomic aspects of comfort the Abilize Pursuit also provides hugely comfortable cushioning. The base cushion is designed to reduce the compression that happens to the majority of padding over time, so you won’t find yourself sitting on hard parts of the chair after just a few weeks. This same padding has been used on the arm rests, reducing the likelihood of rubbing and soreness on your forearms.

Straightforward Usability

When piloting the Pursuit powerchair yourself all the chair’s functions can be controlled from an uncomplicated set of controls that can be mounted on either armrest. All the functionality is controlled by three simple inputs; an ignition button, a speed dial, and a joystick to steer. The joystick is the major area of control as it provides excellent precision of movement, making navigation through even the tightest of spaces a breeze. In addition to using the Pursuit powerchair on the move it’s also been designed to be practical when not in use. The Abilize Pursuit can be folded down into a more compact configuration for storage and transportation. So, whether you’re going on a trip or just don’t want to block up a hallway the Pursuit can adapt to the situation.

The Pursuit Powerchair Provides Freedom

The most important part of any powerchair is its ability to provide independence. The Abilize Pursuit manages this by having exceptional range, so you’ll be able to go further afield with confidence. A maximum range of 12 miles gives you enough distance to be bold in your exploration and still make it home without needing to panic. However, in the event that you forget to top-up the chair before heading out there is a simple contingency feature in place. On the rear of the seat is a set of handles that an attendant can use to push you when the batteries have run flat. Of course, you’ll still have to find a kind passer-by to give you a push if you’re out alone. If you would like to take a look at the Abilize Pursuit then you can find it in the electric wheelchair shop.
