It’s no fun when back pain keeps nagging you even when you sit down. The Vitra Fireside Chair’s extra padding using firm PU foam could make all the difference to your comfort. The backrest is carefully sculpted in the lumbar region for optimum support, and it also makes it easier to rise from the chair. The same material is used on the firm but comfortable seat and on the armrests.

Most hardwoods take 100 years to mature, but the rubberwood used to make the Vitra can be farmed in just 30 years, making it far more sustainable.

The Vitra is designed to support all body sizes and shapes in complete comfort. Despite weighing a mere 15 kg (33 lb) in itself, the chair capably supports users weighing up to 150 kg (more than 23 stone). And there's no danger of those with a larger frame having difficulty fitting into the chair. The seat measures 19 x 19 inches (48 x 48 cm) and the wood knuckles provide extra leverage as you sit and rise.
