About Our 6-8mph Road Scooters

Class 3 road scooters are built to meet British Government requirements for road use: efficient braking, front and rear lights, indicators, hazard warning lights, a horn and rear view mirrors. They can be used on pavements at up to 4mph and on the road at up to 8mph, with a high-low speed switch on the tiller to change between the two easily.

Captain's seats with padded swivel bases and flip-up armrests make getting on and off easier and comfortable for longer journeys. Adjustable delta tiller bars suit riders who have limited strength or use of one hand. Suspension and pneumatic tyres smooth out uneven road surfaces.   • What is a Class 3 mobility scooter?

    A Class 3 scooter is road legal, with a maximum speed of 8mph and full road-legal equipment including lights, indicators and mirrors. Unlike Class 2 scooters, which are pavement-only, Class 3 models can be driven on the road. They must be registered with the DVLA, though no licence, MOT or road tax is required.

  • Can I ride a road scooter on the pavement as well as the road?

    Road scooters are not suitable for air travel. They are large, heavy and typically fitted with sealed lead-acid batteries that airlines do not permit. If travelling by air is a priority, a folding scooter with an airline-friendly lithium battery is a much better option.
