Whether you’re travelling from A to B or covering a bit more distance, there’s not much worse than feeling every jolt and shudder through your wheelchair. Unlike a standard sling-back backrest, the backrest on this wheelchair can be adjusted to a supportive position that reduces pressure in any troublesome spots across your back. The padded seat soaks up pressure in your lower half, too, while the height-adjustable armrests and mesh side panels all add to the comfort on offer with this transit wheelchair. The seat and backrest are removable, too, to make cleaning and storage even easier.
SAFE FOR USE IN A MOTOR VEHICLE
This wheelchair has been tested and approved by UTAC in a controlled environment in accordance with ISO 7176-19, meaning it can safely be used as a seat in a motor vehicle.
A wheelchair that hasn't been crashed tested may be unsafe in the event of an accident if used as a seat in a motor vehicle. Emergency vehicles, taxis and buses may refuse to transport an uncertified wheelchair.
A smooth mover
The CareCo Ergo Pro’s solid tyres reduce rolling resistance and remove any worries about punctures, so they’re perfect for potholed pavements and other troublesome terrain. Your attendant will appreciate the comfort of this wheelchair, too. The rear handles go easier on their hands and wrists compared to other wheelchairs, and the aluminium frame is light enough to make pushing a breeze. Not to say this is a flimsy wheelchair – that strong aluminium frame will support weights of up to 160 kg, or 25 st 3 lbs (depending on the seat width).
Adaptable comfort for longer rides
It’s simple. Everyday travel is just made easier with this crash-tested wheelchair. The footrests swing away or remove entirely to make awkward transfers a thing of the past, and the half-folding backrest and removable footrests transform it into a compact package that will slide into the boot or backseat of your car. With an overall carry weight of between 10.4 and 12.6 kg thanks to that strong but lightweight aluminium frame, it’s relatively easy to lift. Seat belt included.
