it has taken me out & I’ve been able to go to a restaurant & for a pub drink. My husband found it easily possible to get the chair with me in it over our two front steps, about the size of roadside kerbs, and once he did it we knew it was a good buy. We went with our neighbours the first outing, just incase anything was difficult or wrong but it was fine.
I have ordered another cushion however, to boost seat comfort, as after an hour or so I felt I needed more support- there’s lots of choice for extra support round your seated area. Overall, for price & appearance, a good choice!
Strengths
you can propel yourself about, the brakes are sturdy & the chair compact when folded
Weaknesses
not quite enough seat padding.

Decent first chair
I'm an ambulatory user and I use this for when I'm out and about and a four wheeled rollator in the house.
This chair is lightweight and easy to store away folded up.
The removable large wheels work well and being removable makes them easy to clean.
My husband has no issues with manoeuvring the chair, it's just a case of getting used to getting over curbs and uneven surfaces.
It's comfortable to be sat in for prolonged periods of time, although I'd still recommend a supportive cushion with whichever chair people purchased.
Self propelling in the chair is fine, I'm able to manage doing so within my own limits when indoors. I have fatigue issues hence why I also need my husband's support.
I'm quite short at 5'1ish and I have had to set up the chair so that it fits my needs by lowering wheel height and the foot rests. As it comes from the warehouse, it feels better suited to someone at around 5'5".
If you do need it adjusting it's probably worth popping to one of the shops to arrange this (if this is something Careco offer I've not looked into this personally) if you don't feel confident doing so yourself.
The set up and default angle the chair sits at does put your body in a position that makes it a little harder to self propel, so again it's worth making sure that the chair is set up for your height and comfort. Another reason why it is worth going to a showroom to find a chair that is right for you.
Customer service has been really good and helpful so far.
Strengths
Folds up easily
Solid tyres
Comfortable
Doesn't look like an old nhs style chair
Weaknesses
Footrests are awkward to adjust, could do with ones that are easier to do so.
Footrests can be awkward to lock into place.

X8 High Active
Too early to give a proper review as I have not had a chance to wheel myself around, out doors but having smaller front wheels than the previous two wheelchairs I have purchased gives it a smaller front turning circle and less likely to cause bump damage.
Strengths
Higher seat height, as I am 6 feet tall with long legs, this makes moving around much easier

Seat back too low
Unfortunately I had to return the wheelchair as it didnt fit my needs properly. I am 55 and the seat back came up too low on my back, which was uncomfortable as I have an inflammatory spinal disease. When I removed the thick cushion, my legs were then too high and not in-line with my hips, such a shame the leg rests arent adjustable. The wheelchair comes in a fantastic colour and very comfortable cushion. The wheelchair felt light to push and moved very well. Easy to assemble and collapse. Would probably be best suited to someone shorter or someone who doesnt have lower back issues. As always, Careco are a fantastic company. Theyre customer service is second to none. I have and will continue to purchase all of my mobility products from them. Just waiting for the refund on this wheelchair so I can purchase a mobility scooter from them.
Strengths
Easy to use, comfy cushion and a great colour. Easy to assemble and collapse.
Weaknesses
Seat back too low when using the cushion. Once i had removed the cushion my knees were too high and the foot rest could not be adjusted.

Good chair for price
Ive been an ambulatory wheelchair user for the last 7months. This was the best chair I could find within my price range. Its a good chair for its price. Its easy to self propel indoors. Very comfortable to sit in and easy to adjust arm rest height. The brakes take a bit more force to apply than Id anticipated and the foot peddles are a little tricky to attach and detach. I would only recommend outdoor use with help from an attendant. Attendents point of view Relativly easy to push with user in on a flat surfaces and would only recommend use on flat and smooth surfaces. Some difficulty getting up kerbs. Overall this chair is ideal for use indoors. Outdoor use with aid from an attendant it is good for supermarket shops, getting around a shopping center and short distanced outings such as wheeling around a flat park/promenade.
