Excellent Customer service from Care Co LeicesterWe have a scooter on long term hire but is not something we can take on our travels as its too bulky.
We saw someone at an airport with a folding scooter and have since been looking for one that was still substantial and robust enough.
Having seen the Autofold Elite on the web site a visit to CareCo Leicester was arranged to look at this and other options.
Michael Turner was welcoming and extremely helpful from the the moment we arrived. We explored a few options but soon decided that the Elite would be the one for us.
The 'paperwork' was completed quickly online with our VAT exemption applied due to my terminal illness. As this was an expensive item and not being sure it would be covered adequately by our Home Insurance we added a years worth of specific insurance at a reasonable price. The only real tough decision we had to make was 'what colour' - the showroom model was a very nice blue and the existing hire scooter is red so Blue it is !
We asked for 'free' delivery which was quoted at 5 working days - needless to say we were delighted later the same day when the courier messaged to say they would be delivering the next day.
At 8.00am this morning a large box was delivered into our hallway and unpacking commenced as if it was Christmas - All is good and after a quick run up and down the hallway the scooter is 'on charge' for 6 hours to make sure the battery is full and ready to take me on an adventure.
All in all a hassle free experience so far - If I need any after sales support, I hope it is also as efficient as the team in the Leicester showroom.Strengths Does what it says on the tin ! Auto folding feature is great and there is always a manual option that is simple as a back up. Looked at the Minimus but thought the bigger seat on this would be more comfy. Removable arm rests are a benefit as well. Not sure i'll be on it long enough to need to use the USB for charging but its a nice feature as is the LED headlight when out walking the dogsWeaknesses Not the lightest to lift in and out of a car but doable with care -
Im gaining confidence in my scooter the more I use itNik was excellant in the show room(in Norwich) I tested several models, going to&from each one until I was sure. This model will be ideal for me on holiday, TUI have already said it can go in the hold&I take the battery on board with me&the weight is not included in hand luggage allowance. Ive tested for 3 long days sightseeing in Liverpool&although I did get down to 1 last bar flashing, it lasted me all day (from approx 9.30am-6pm).My confidence is growing the more I use it.
