What are the dimensions of the base plate
including thickness

It is 75cm by 37cm. The base plate is approx 4mm thick.

Does the table need to fixed under the chair leg?

Thank you for your enquiry. The Universal Adjustable Table does not need to be fixed to the table leg, as long as there is room under the chair for the metal plate to fit the table should stay in place without issue.
Can it be used with a Hospital bed?
My mum is in a hospital bed at home, would this table be suitable?

Thank you for your enquiry. The Universal Adjustable Table has an adjustable height of Height of between 66cm and 83cm. Provided that your bed is within these measurement (accounting for space for the user to lie in the bed) and there is space underneath the bed for the lip to go under I see no reason why this table cannot be used with a hospital bed. We have a 14 day returns policy, as long as the product is returned in the original packaging. Is the table left-handed or right-handed?
The fixed photographs on the website show a table with the column to the right of the chair. The video shows the reverse. The table appears to be supported by a column that permits close approach with good clearance. (The writer would need the column to the right.).
