Product Summary
Nothing about the VOLAR 10 Comfort Transit is one-size. The backrest tension is set by hand to suit your preferences, front suspension takes the sting out of the ride, and it folds down without tools when you're ready to pack it up for storage or transport. Choose from three widths, all backed by a 10-year frame warranty.
Features
- Front suspension
- Tension-adjustable, half folding backrest
- Height adjustable handles
- Puncture proof tyres
Steering, suspension, and the fold
Front suspension smooths out of every bump, so the impact doesn't travel straight up through the frame and into the seat. The backrest works the same way – loosen or tighten the velcro straps underneath the cushion and the support changes with it, so the chair can be set up for the person actually using it rather than an average build. When it's time to travel, the backrest half-folds and the legrests lift away without a single tool, shrinking the whole thing down small enough for the car boot. Three widths mean there's a size that actually fits you, not just one you’ll have to make do with.

Proper support, set by hand
Most wheelchairs are built to a single average, and everyone else has to make do. The VOLAR 10 Comfort Transit does it differently. Underneath the backrest cushion sit velcro straps that adjust the tension by hand – tighten it for firmer support or loosen it for more give, with each strap set separately if one side needs to sit differently from the other. Paired with the padded backrest and seat underneath, it means the same chair can genuinely suit two quite different people.
Moves the way it's meant to
Front suspension takes the edge off the ride, so travelling feels steadier than a rigid frame alone could manage. The brake levers do more than bring the chair to a stop, too – squeeze one side on its own and the chair turns that way, so a tight corner doesn't call for a separate steering control. Puncture-proof PU tyres mean there's nothing to check or inflate before heading out, and anti-tip wheels come fitted from the start rather than bolted on as an afterthought.
Sized to fit, folds to travel
A single fixed width rarely fits everyone, which is why the VOLAR 10 Comfort Transit comes in three. Choose 17, 19 or 21 inch seat width, with the two narrower options capable of supporting 115kg and the 21 inch stretching to 160kg. And getting it from the house to the car is just as considered as everything else. The backrest half-folds and the legrests lift away without a single tool, so the whole chair collapses down for car boots or a cupboard.

Assembly Guide
Happy to assemble this product yourself?
Here's our guide
Will it fit in our car boot?
Yes, the backrest half-folds and the legrests lift off without tools, folding the wheelchair down to around 74–85cm long depending on width, light enough for one person to lift.
How do the brakes work if there are no hand-rims to push?
The attendant controls both steering and stopping from the push handles, squeeze one lever to turn that way, both together to stop, and push down to lock them for parking.
What if the pavement is uneven or there's a kerb?
Front suspension takes the worst of the impact out before it reaches the seat, and anti-tip wheels are fitted as standard for extra stability.
Which width do we need?
It comes in 17, 19 and 21 inch seat widths. The 17 and 19 inch are rated to 115kg, and the 21 inch to 160kg – seat height stays much the same across all three.
Is a lap belt included, or is that extra?
It's fitted as standard, along with the anti-tip wheels.
What's covered under warranty?
The frame is covered for 10 years, and durable parts for 1 year.
