- Compact wheelchairMy old wheelchair was very big and heavy which made it hard to push and took up too much room in the boot of my car. I saw an advert for Careco and my daughter took me to the local store. After talking to the assistant I chose the Kinetic compact wheelchair. It's everything I wanted. It's easy to put together and very light to push me around plus it takes up a very small space in the boot of my car. It also comes in a handy bag too. I love my new wheelchair and wished I'd bought one sooner.Strengths It's light to push and very compact plus the bag is handy to keep it inWeaknesses None
- Verified BuyerNot great if the surfaces are not flat!Used the chair for first time this weekend, it was fine on very flat surfaces but was absolutely hopeless on cobbles or even small changes in levels of footpaths/paving slabs - the only way to move forward was to reverse, pull the chair up the obstructions then when free of these, turn round and start to push again.
Quite exhausting as the pusher!Strengths Very easy to assemble and collapse - quite lightweight to easy to carry in and out of carWeaknesses The small front wheel design makes it almost impossible to push forward when floor level increases are present - Verified BuyerSo disappointed. We bought this wheelchair for my husband who has MS because we thought it would be great to take on holiday. The positives are, it is light, its easy to fold up and down, it comes with it's own carry bag which the wheelchair fits snuggly inside so perfect for foreign travel.
The negatives, the wheelchair would be great for someone who is extremely light but my husband is 12 stone & we found it an absolute nightmare. It's easy to push on a perfectly smooth flat surface but that's all. It was troublesome crossing roads, even with dropped kerbs. We actually had to pull it backwards at every road crossing. Unless pavements were totally flat it was a struggle to push. The front wheels seemed to stick in every uneven pavement.
I know my review totally differs from all the others but we honestly feel we have wasted £200 as our experience with this wheelchair was horrendous.
Strengths Light Easy to assemble & fold Comes with bagWeaknesses Everything else - Very disappointed.I have wasted £200 on a wheelchair not suitable for purpose. It has very small front wheels, (the back has larger ones). I explained to the sales person what we needed and he said this was the best one. I was thrown out of my wheelchair onto the floor going along a straight path which was fairly smooth with a bit of sand, I thought I was safe enough without the seatbelt. If I had used the seat belt. The chair would have come with me!!!
It is flimsy, and I never felt safe in it. It kept veering off to the right or the left. It was an awful experience on what should have been an amazing holiday. Very disappointed.Strengths The colour is nice.Weaknesses Flimsy, unable to meet the needs of even a slightly rough terrain. - Verified BuyerExcellent serviceThis wheelchair arrived the next day which is excellent service. Very easy to put the foot rests and seat pads on.Strengths Very easy to pushWeaknesses None
