- Prolite carbon fibre Eviso powerchairWe looked at Powerchairs on the CareCo website, then visited Bournemouth showroom to examine those we’d seen online. The staff were very good, letting us take our time & giving us helpful, & practical tips when accompanying us in “test riding” our favourite: The Prolite Eviso Powerchair. It’s very easy to fold & unfold with just the seat cushion to remove. Having a carbon fibre frame makes it one of the lightest Powerchairs about & as the battery & joystick can also be removed when folding, it enables me to use it without my husband to help me lift it in & out of the car, that was a very important consideration. The back of the chair is designed similar to the back of an office chair so I don’t even need a cushion for my back & although there is only front suspension the ride is pretty smooth. I appreciated being able to purchase a bag for the back & one for the armrest to carry my personal belongings instead of having them on show. Overall, I am very pleased with it & feel it’s a good investment.Strengths Light to lift even with only removing the seat cushion. Very easy to fold/unfold. Fits into our small hatchback car. Comfortable to both sit in & to ride in. Bags you can buy to carry personal belongings.Weaknesses None experienced so far

I have gone to events, and my wife has taken it on bus when we were visiting a city as tourists . It was light to lift on the bus folded and in manual, useful if the bus already has someone in a wheelchair space, it been used to get to hospital appointments where long corridors are a a struggle to walk to the appointment. The battery is lighter than a scooter. The Evisu carbon fibre chair fits in a car boot easily folded and is light to lift in and out.
Have not needed any service from CareCo but we did purchase insurance for extended warranty nd public liability insurance
I had the care co Maximus scooter which a few years ago which has weight 29 kgs, folds down but even having removed the battery it is still heavy, after removing the battery and folding up to put on bus was too much for my wife.Strengths Light weight frame , feels strong, easy to fold and put in the car and on public transport.Weaknesses One small issue is if pulling the chair in manual folded by the chair back handle it unfolds, it would be nice to have some easy to attach and remove straps. The other not keen on is the plastic leavers to fold the chair and the plastic leavers to put from battery power to manual . They feel vulnerable to breaking and considering the price of the chair would have expected better stronger feeling fittings.
- An initial hitch, Fully remedied by Mathew at CareCoI bought the powerchair earlier this year but until recently I have not had to use it, but deteriorating health left me no other alternative. Well everything went according to plan until I got an error code flash up which was not in the manual. I contacted CareCo and after some conversations they said they would send out a completely new chair. Well I can't be more happy with the service and look forward to regaining my freedom. The powerchair beats my old manual one hands down, so easy to use and responsive, although I only use speed 2 or 3 when walking with other people as 4 might be a little quick for them - lol. Just a note: follow the battery charging regime in the manual and the documents given/sent at time of purchase as this could if not followed negate cover on your warranty.Strengths Easy of use.
