- Evisu Carbon fibre power chair has helped us travelWe purchased this carbon fibre powered wheelchair 6 months ago.
I have gone to events, and my wife has taken it on bus when we were visiting a city as tourists . It was light to lift on the bus folded and in manual, useful if the bus already has someone in a wheelchair space, it been used to get to hospital appointments where long corridors are a a struggle to walk to the appointment. The battery is lighter than a scooter. The Evisu carbon fibre chair fits in a car boot easily folded and is light to lift in and out.
Have not needed any service from CareCo but we did purchase insurance for extended warranty nd public liability insurance
I had the care co Maximus scooter which a few years ago which has weight 29 kgs, folds down but even having removed the battery it is still heavy, after removing the battery and folding up to put on bus was too much for my wife.Strengths Light weight frame , feels strong, easy to fold and put in the car and on public transport.Weaknesses One small issue is if pulling the chair in manual folded by the chair back handle it unfolds, it would be nice to have some easy to attach and remove straps. The other not keen on is the plastic leavers to fold the chair and the plastic leavers to put from battery power to manual . They feel vulnerable to breaking and considering the price of the chair would have expected better stronger feeling fittings.
- An initial hitch, Fully remedied by Mathew at CareCoI bought the powerchair earlier this year but until recently I have not had to use it, but deteriorating health left me no other alternative. Well everything went according to plan until I got an error code flash up which was not in the manual. I contacted CareCo and after some conversations they said they would send out a completely new chair. Well I can't be more happy with the service and look forward to regaining my freedom. The powerchair beats my old manual one hands down, so easy to use and responsive, although I only use speed 2 or 3 when walking with other people as 4 might be a little quick for them - lol. Just a note: follow the battery charging regime in the manual and the documents given/sent at time of purchase as this could if not followed negate cover on your warranty.Strengths Easy of use. - Great chair- more expensive than some others but worth itTried out a bunch of others which were cheaper (and some that were considerably more expensive) and this was the only one that we found comfortable. Worried at first by the small wheels and lack of springs and suspension that others had, none of my concerns have materialised. Absolutely works and is comfy and effective.Strengths Light, neat footprint in and around home, folds nicely, controls are easier than others and is easier to drive, seat feels comfortableWeaknesses Turning on slopes, the chassis struggles a little and one wheel can come off the ground. Not so good on kerbs as a big off-road chair might be, but it is so much neater around the house.
- What a great additionBought this chair for its weight and ease of use. So far it has been amazing easy to fold light enough to get into the car easily and is durable and comfortable.Strengths Weight, strength and ease of foldingWeaknesses None as i can see so far.
- Heat power chair and serviceI visited Brighton Care co to look at peer chairs as i have osteoarthritis in both knees and find it difficult to get around.. Chloe helped me pick the right one for my needs. I tried a
number of power chairs and Chloe even took me out to car park with 2 chairs to try lifting into car. I decided on the lightest one and Chloe sorted out the paperwork. The chair was delivered next day less than 24 hrs after ordering it. Great power chair well done Care co and Chloe.Strengths Lightness and ease of movement.Weaknesses More expensive than other models but worth extra .
