- Verified BuyerHighly recommendedI am very impressed with this bath board—it’s really solid feeling, and comfortable to sit on. I initially used it with a bit of help from my partner to hold it steady as I got on and off it but a few days on I was using it completely independently and now I just use it to get in and out of the (fairly high-sided) bath and am able to shower standing up again.
I bought it three weeks after having a total knee replacement because I was unable to bend my knee to the angle required to safely step in and out of the bath and use an over-bath shower. The thought of more “wet wipes bed baths” was very depressing and I really didn’t have much confidence in my mobility especially factoring in a wet bath/tiled floor.
But I could sit on the end of the securely fixed board (it is held in place braced against the inside of the bath), wiggle myself round and into the bath that way, then shower sitting down.
The one caveat I have is that the board fixes perfectly in a straight-sided bath but the braces don’t work quite so well in an older 1980s-style bath with asymmetrical angled/ curved sides (though even there it does help, it just doesn’t brace quite so securely)
