- Verified BuyerOK, but....Ordered two days ago and it arrived yesterday - we paid £30 for a nominated day delivery and we thought that was a bit steep. We were given a time slot for delivery, which was excellent as we were not hanging around all day waiting for our order to arrive.
We just watched the video of how to assemble it - if only every firm put on demonstration videos like you do, it would be so helpful. Fitting it together was easy but the seat was a disappointment. We finally worked out which way the top seat lid should sit on the toilet seat, but it is far too uncomfortable to sit on as you can still feel the metal bits that sit on the toilet seat. Have we done something wrong? It looks OK, feels very sturdy and will hopefully do the job.
What we didn't like is that the video and the writing on the box insists you have to keep the huge box in case the item proves defective. Do they think we live in a warehouse? Where on earth are we expected to keep that box in a small bungalow? Also, it looks like we might have to pay to return an item, should it prove defective.
We are just about to assemble a fireside chair, and that is another huge box in our living room. I have just emailed Which, who recommend Careco, about my rights - do we really have to keep two huge boxes in our living room and for how long??? I was also planning to order a recliner - so that will be three huge boxes - we will never get into our living room at this rate!Strengths Very sturdy and easy to build once you watch the video. Looks better than I thought and it is easy to move, if you need to do so.Weaknesses The seat fixes with two metal bits underneath. You can still feel them if you sit on it. - Really comfortable and easy to put togetherI bought this for Mum as she's now unable to safely use the upstairs toilet. I prioritised comfort and support as she's so bony and needs time to go to the toilet. It's great, easily put together (I needed to use the extension legs) and isn't horribly heavy but it's very sturdy. It has got a detached, cushioned seat too, all of which is in wipe down PVC. Very happy.Strengths Comfort, support, washable.Weaknesses You have to loft the seat to remove the lid on the bucket, which my Mum can't manage but Carers can, or it is left without the lid for her to go straight to if necessary.
