If you are caring for an individual who is elderly or disabled, the risk of chair and bed falls is very real and can be worrisome. But it can be difficult to prevent patients from standing up or getting up without your help. Independence is important, but protection in the event of a fall can bring peace of mind to a difficult situation. The simple to use Lifemax Voice Alert Alarm is a versatile local alarm system safety device for fall management that is perfectly suited to a multitude of different care situations. It gives an instant alert when a person stands up or falls, enabling you to provide immediate aid if and when required. Because this can also be used to alert to standing without a fall having taken place, it can help to reduce the risk of falls occurring.
The Lifemax Alarm has a cord with a simple to use clip that can be attached to the individual's clothing while the other end of the cord is attached to the main alarm unit or optional sensor pads via the RJ9 socket. The contact is magnetic between the cord and chip or sensor. The main alarm unit is then attached to a chair, bed or wheelchair. If the patient falls, stands, or changes position dramatically, the cord will pull from the magnetic contact or the sensor will be triggered, and the alarm will sound. It is tamper resistant with a suspend/reset mode that stops monitoring temporarily to help the patient reposition without triggering the alarm.
The alarm trigger has high, low and silent (with flashing light) volume settings which can be changed easily, depending on your requirements and the distance you need the sound to carry over. There is a choice of four different alarm tones or a voice tone. This gives you the option to record your own alert message or instructions in a voice that is familiar to the patient. The Lifemax Voice Alert Alarm is also enabled to allow the caregiver to receive a remote alarm signal because it can be connected to an existing Nursecall system (via the 6.3mm mono jack).
The patient alarm has a battery low indicator, so you can be confident in uninterrupted patient monitoring and leaving patients unattended when required. The versatile clip and included mounting bracket allow the main alarm unit to be securely attached to the most convenient location for you and your patient, including beds, entrance ways, wheelchairs and other chairs.
The Lifemax Voice Alert Alarm is powered by 4 x AA batteries ensuring simple set up and use in any home or care setting.
