Product Overview

Most of the discomfort from crutches comes down to two things: the handle and the height. The Harmony's handles are shaped to sit flat under your palm rather than round like a broom handle, so your wrist stays close to its natural angle instead of bending back against a bar. Get the height wrong and that discomfort moves up into your shoulders and back, so these adjust from 95cm to 118cm using a spring button pin and a locking collar, letting you set the handgrip level with your wrist bone in a couple of movements.

The open-cuff design is the other main difference from a standard crutch. Instead of a closed loop you push your whole arm through, the semi-open cuff lets you slide your forearm in and out from the side, while still sitting just below the elbow for solid support. It's a small change that matters most on the days you're taking the crutches on and off a dozen times.

Underneath the pink finish is an aluminium frame that keeps the pair very lightweight at less than a 1kg total,  while still holding up to 100kg of weight. Assembly is minimal – the ferrules and handles are ready to go out of the box, and setting the height is quick and easy.

  • Will these definitely fit? What height range do they cover?

They adjust from 95cm to 118cm using the spring-pin, which covers most adult heights. Set the handgrip level with your wrist bone when standing normally, and the cuff should sit 2.5–5cm below the elbow.

  • Are they sturdy enough for daily use?

Yes, the aluminium frame is built to hold up to 100kg (15st 7lb), not just for short-term recovery.

  • What's different about the open cuff versus normal crutches?

The cuff is semi-open rather than a closed loop, so the arm slides in and out from the side instead of being threaded through. It still sits below the elbow for support, just without needing to unclip or rethread it each time.

  • Is pink the only colour available?

Yes, this pair comes in pink only. If you'd prefer a different look, it's worth browsing CareCo's other crutches, there's a wider range of colours and styles across the collection.

  • Do they need much putting together?

No, they arrive close to ready, and setting them up takes under 5 minutes.

  • Are they safe to use on wet or uneven ground?

They're built for firm, dry surfaces. Avoid loose or slippery ground, and check the ferrules are in good condition before each use.
