Veslar Tri-Walker & Oracle Rollator - Two New Stylish Walkers

The Veslar Tri-Walker and Oracle Rollator walking aids

If your mobility is not what it once was, either due to a medical condition or advancing years, a rollator or walker is an ideal mobility aid. These devices offer superior support and stability compared with a walking stick or cane, but still encourage you to walk, maintaining fitness and muscle tone.

The Veslar Tri-Walker and Oracle Rollator are two stylish walkers that are new to the CareCo range. If you are considering a walker, either for yourself or a loved one, both should be on your shortlist.

The Veslar Tri-Walker

The Veslar is our new entry level tri-walker. It weighs in at just 5.9 Kg (13lb) thanks to its lightweight frame. This, combined with its easy folding mechanism, makes it easy to take with you wherever you go, and to store it out of the way in the car, on public transport or when not in use.

The arthritis-friendly controls make it easy to operate. A touch of the brake levers locks the wheels for absolute stability. It is also designed to promote a better posture, so you can stand up straight and walk with confidence.

The Veslar supports users weighing up to 136 Kg (21st 5lbs). It has a smart silver finish and comes with a useful storage bag for your shopping and other bits and pieces.

The Oracle Rollator

With its lightweight aluminium frame finished in distinctive ice blue, the Oracle looks as good as it performs. As well as delivering the best possible support, it also provides somewhere to sit if you need to rest your feet while out and about. The generously padded seat and backrest give new meaning to comfort on the go.

The Oracle is jam packed with useful features. The under-seat storage has room for plenty of shopping and the integrated walking stick holder is an ingenious addition. The handles and brakes are designed to be easy to grip – even with arthritic fingers.

At just 7.3 Kg (16lb) and with a simple folding mechanism, the Oracle is ideal for life on the go. It couldn’t be easier to fold it up and pop it into the boot of the car or stash it away in a cupboard for easy storage. Yet despite its portability and light weight, it is built to support users weighing up to 136 Kg (21st 5lbs).

Benefits of using a rollator or walker

It is worth taking a moment to think about why rollators and tri-walkers have become so popular in recent years. People have been using mobility aids for centuries, but wheeled walkers are a recent innovation, at least when compared to walking canes and even wheelchairs. Here are some of the reasons they are so popular:

  • Safety – a rollator or walker provides enhanced support. With three or four points of contact, it is much more stable than a walking stick
  • Mobility – with a rollator or walker, you can move around more easily, both around the house and outside. Its stable base makes walking, standing and sitting easier.
  • Independence – using a rollator or walker allows those with mobility difficulties to carry out routine daily activities safely. It makes it easier to remain independent, active and social, which is, in turn, good for mental and emotional well-being.
  • Balance – rollators and walkers are specifically designed to provide support and stability. This helps those who have difficulty with balance. These aids are especially useful for those who experience dizziness or weakness, providing a stable base to reduce the risk of falls.
  • Reducing fatigue – walking takes a lot of energy, especially for older adults or those living with chronic health conditions. A rollator or walker literally takes some of the strain, reducing the amount of energy expended in moving around.
  • Comfort – many rollators and walkers come equipped with seats and padded handles, making them more comfortable to use over extended periods of time.
  • Posture - using a walker or rollator help you maintain good posture while walking. This helps prevent further physical complications, especially when living with conditions like osteoporosis.
  • Exercise - a rollator or walker encourages those who might otherwise use a wheelchair to walk more. Walking strengthens muscles, improves cardiovascular health, and promotes general wellbeing.
  • Confidence – fear of falling can sometimes be more debilitating than physical mobility issues. A rollator or walker gives the user confidence when moving around.
  • Customizable – walkers and rollators are available in a huge range of styles and sizes with a choice of accessories and features.
