Over the last 6 weeks while our shops have been closed, we’ve been adjusting to the unfortunate situation that coronavirus has brought about. Although our shops are closed and many members of staff have had to be furloughed, we have still been operating with a skeleton crew and sending out website and telephone orders. Social distancing in the warehouse and head office has been a challenge, but we have managed it well and glad to report that staff remain healthy and positive.
Over the last couple of weeks we have been preparing the business for reopening. Although we do not have a definitive date yet, as we are waiting for the Government to make an official announcement, we have been working hard to ensure that all areas of our business, the shops, the warehouse, and offices, are as safe and clean as possible for customers, staff and visitors.
We’ve shared a guide on our website to help explain all the things that we are doing, and the successes we have had, which you can read here: Coronavirus Response – New measures and future plans to keep our staff and our customers safe. Here are a few highlights:
Professional Deep Clean of Shops and Work Areas
We have had all parts of the business professional cleaned and disinfected, with great care taken to ensure that all parts of our showrooms are thoroughly cleaned. We are following Government guidelines on social distancing, hand washing and use of face masks and protective screens. All staff have their temperature taken when entering the building too.
We have had some excellent feedback from customers about how we have been managing this crisis while still delivering vital mobility products to vulnerable people all over the UK.
Supporting the Community
We have also been helping support the local community where possible – we provided the nursing home next door with a complimentary box of hand sanitiser recently, which was gratefully received.
Mobility Shops to Reopen Soon
There will be an announcement soon regarding the reopening of our mobility shops. Currently, we are looking to open showrooms on Monday May 18th, once we have our protective screens in place in all showrooms. The number of customers will be restricted and we may ask people to book appointments. Full details will be announced on the blog, on the newsletters, and on our Facebook page, so sign up, if you have not done so already, for the latest news.
