On Sunday, 8th September 2024, the CareCo Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team took on a Mighty Hike to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The team decided to tackle the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike, taking in parts of the scenic South West Coast path, as well as Corfe Castle and St Aldhelm's Chapel, and finished at Swanage Bay.
Our 20-strong group set off early in the morning, having been collected by bus at 5am from CareCo HQ. We found ourselves with a fortunate opportunity to set off together, starting just after the main group of 500 participants. As a result, we walked as a united front, giving us a unique experience on the challenging route. While other groups were split up, we were able to stay together!
At the first (merciful) rest stop, about 7 miles in, several members of the team had even overtaken earlier walkers! After that, we pressed on through the muddy and steep cliffs, determined to complete the challenge. Eventually, we successfully reached the finish line, and were rewarded with a very welcome lunch provided by the lovely people at Macmillan.
After that, a spot of revelling and swapping of war stories was needed - epic tales of sore muscles, wet feet, and the day’s toughest moments.
As of the latest count, we at CareCo have raised a remarkable £8,000 for Macmillan, with donations continuing to pour in. This was a great success and everyone at CareCo is immensely proud of everyone who took part!

The CSR team has also inspired us to expand our walking stick and cane range, and we'll soon be launching the Treka 2in1 Hiking Walking Stick, to help you explore the great outdoors.
