A comfortable armchair is one of life's little luxuries. Large sofa's are a convenient way to squeeze the whole family into a small living room, but they are never really very comfortable. But an armchair that is reserved just for you, can provide exception comfort. Armchairs are better than sofas for several reasons, but most important is that you can sit with both arms supported, meaning all tasks from reading to holding a drink in one hand an a remote control in the other, are easier. The most comfortable type of armchair is the recliner chair - there comes a time in most of our lives when nothing brings greater joy than being able to sit back with your feet up and relax for an hour or so, and if you are comfortable enough to doze off, all the better! However, many people assume that a comfortable armchair comes at a high price, but you don't need to splash out on an Eames lounge chair for optimal comfort, and besides, while they may be great to sit in, they can be hard to get up form! Fortunately, the MaxiComfort range of armchairs combines the best of comfort with reclining features, along with ease of getting up again with a loft function. Let's take a closer look at these great riser recliner chairs.
MaxiComfort Opal Rise and Recline
The MaxiComfort Opal (pictured above) comes with a dual motor to operate the reclining function, as well as riser function. The dual motor recliner has two motors that raise the footrest and recline the backrest independently - if you like to lay back while keeping your feet on the ground, or lift your feet while sitting upright, then you need the dual motor recliner. This comes with hardwearing PU leather upholstery.
MaxiComfort Cloud Riser Recliners
The MaxiComfort Cloud Riser Recliners, which are also available in both single and dual motor options, offer the same chair in a choice of fabric finishes. Fabric chairs feel cosier and warmer, and are actually often preferred over the more luxurious leather options. Like the Opal, it comes with a triple fall backrest that offers excellent comfort and support, along with curved padded armrests that help keep your arms and shoulders in the perfect position even when fully reclined. The Maxicomfort Cloud is one of our OT recommended riser recliner chairs - pictured here is our occupational therapist, Natasha Bruce-Jones, explaining the benefits of the chair to a customer. So, why not treat yourself to a new raising recliner chair? As well as being able to sit comfortably for hours on end, the chairs will also gently lift you up to your feet, so no more struggling to get out of those old lounge chairs. If Charles and Ray Eames had access to our electric motors in 1956, they probably would not have designed a low lounge chair with ottoman foot rest!
