How to Care For Your CareCo Rise Recline Chair

April 18, 2017 -
Rise Recline Chair

Rise recliners have many amazing benefits for users, not least easing pressure on the neck, spine and legs. They allow you to relax in comfort and alleviate some medical conditions. With care, your CareCo rise recliner chair will provide you with many years of happy use. It doesn’t matter which type you have, here are some simple tips and steps to ensure the longevity of your device.

Leather Care Kit

This is if for you if your model has leather covering. Over time, leather can crack and damage.  It can also accumulate grime and dirt that gets into the natural grooves. As this builds up, the potential for damage, discolouration and staining increases. At the time of purchase of your rise recliner chair, you were probably offered one of our leather care kits. If not, we strongly recommend that you buy one to ensure the long life of your leather. Our kits contain substances that remove stains and some that will protect against future wear, tear and damage. Protection and cure are both ways of ensuring a long life for your leather rise recliner chair.

Rise Recline ChairFabric Care Kit

Fabric upholstery will discolour and fade. You will also notice those frayed patches of grey on corners where the hard frame rubs against the fabric. This can be unsightly and will have you considering reupholstering earlier than necessary. If you chose a fabric covered chair, you were probably offered a fabric care kit. We strongly recommend using this as instructed on the box. Regular use will ensure that your fabric will not discolour and fade and will protect against most forms of damage. Guardsman is one of the world’s best-known suppliers of care kits. We are proud to offer you some of the best available creams, liquids and sprays to ensure your rise recliner chair looks brand new for as long as possible.

Get your Riser Recliner Chair Serviced Regularly

Care kits can only protect against certain types of damage. What they will not do is prevent problems with the mechanical elements, the electronics and the internal workings of the chair. Moving parts can wear over time. Therefore, we recommend you stick to a regular service plan as recommended in the instructions provided (typically once per year) just as you would with your car. Services can recognise worn parts before they cause a major breakdown. Most parts are replaced easily and will ensure your chair works for many more years. A service will also keep the parts lubricated to avoid premature wear.

Clean it as Part of your Housework

It’s usually out of sight, out of mind for dust and dirt beneath the cushions of your riser recliner chair. This isn’t so much of a problem for regular chairs and sofas. Dirt, dust, dropped food and even coins slipping out of your pocket and inside can damage the internal workings of your rise recliner chair. Try to get into the habit of removing the cushions to get into the chair. Use a vacuum cleaner to suck out the dirt and debris that could get into the lubricant and cause damage. Wipe down the metal surfaces with a dry cloth to remove dust. It may also be a good idea to use canned air to disperse dust settled in hard to reach places.

Keep it out of Direct Sunlight

Once step you may not have considered (and one that few people consider) is to ensure your riser recliner chair is kept away from direct sunlight. This applies to both leather and fabric upholstered seats. Sunshine can dry and crack leather and cause colour fading in fabric seating. If you can help it, try to put it away from the window or somewhere it will receive the most shade.
